“I HAVE so much love for UPND but I feel like I am at the dump site,” laments Gary Nkombo. The former Mazabuka Central UPND member of parliament, who has been serving as MP since 2006, has wondered why people keep insulting him when he is at a “dump site”. He says people should not take it for granted as he is still the “old him”. While UPND was in opposition, Nkombo fought battles with the police and played a significant role in securing the party’s victory in 2021.
